Privacy Policy
Cocktail Flashcards is a study app for learning cocktail recipes. This policy explains what it collects, why, and who it is shared with. It covers both the website at cocktailflashcards.com and the Android app.
What is collected

Payment card details are never collected or stored by this app. Web payments are handled entirely by Stripe, and in-app purchases entirely by Google Play. Only the fact that a purchase succeeded is recorded.
The app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, or the content of anything you type beyond the study progress described above.
Who it is shared with
Data is not sold. It is handled by these service providers, each under their own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — sign-in and cloud storage of your progress and purchase status
- Google AdSense (website) and Google AdMob (Android app) — advertising
- Google Analytics — usage statistics
- Google Play Billing and RevenueCat — in-app purchases and their validation
- Stripe — payments made on the website
- Netlify — website hosting, including standard server logs
Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
Advertising
Ads on the website are provided by Google AdSense, and ads in the Android app by Google AdMob. Both may use cookies or advertising identifiers to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
Where the GDPR applies, the website shows Google's consent message before any personalised advertising or analytics data is used, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time using Privacy & cookie settings at the bottom of the app. Declining leaves the app fully usable. Buying ad removal stops ads being shown and stops the ad code being loaded at all.
Using the app without an account
You can study without signing in. Progress is then stored only on your device and is not sent to the cloud. Signing in is required only to sync between devices and to make a purchase that applies across devices.
Keeping and deleting your data
Progress and purchase status are kept while your account exists, so that ad removal you have paid for continues to work.
Delete your account and all associated data
You do not need to install the Android app to do this. The website is the same app, so the steps below work in any browser:
- Go to cocktailflashcards.com — or open the Android app, if you have it installed.
- Sign in with the same Google or Facebook account you used before.
- Scroll to the bottom of the app and choose Delete account, below the Privacy Policy link.
- Confirm when asked.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. It removes your sign-in account, your synced study progress, and the record of ad removal held against your account, and it clears the progress stored on the device you delete from.
Delete only your study progress, and keep your account
Use Reset Progress in the app. This clears the progress held on the device you use it on, and leaves your account, your sign-in details, and your purchases in place.
Request deletion by email instead
If you would rather not sign in, or you no longer can, email steve@cocktailflashcards.com from the address you signed in with and ask for your account to be deleted. Requests are completed within 30 days.
A record of a purchase may be retained where required for tax or accounting purposes, and the payment provider (Google Play or Stripe) keeps its own transaction records independently of this app. Deleting your account does not request a refund. If you bought ad removal through Google Play, that purchase stays attached to your Google account — “Restore purchase” will return it on a new account.
Security
Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, and cloud data is protected by access rules that let each account read and write only its own record. Purchase status can be set only by the payment provider's verified server notifications, never by the app itself.
Children and age
This app is about alcoholic drinks and is not directed to children. It is intended for users who are of legal drinking age where they live. Personal information is not knowingly collected from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided information, contact the address below and it will be removed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to some processing. Requests can be made to the contact address below.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be updated. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
